Do I need to create classes and sections?
You don't have to create classes and sections in advance if you are going to import your entries from an Excel file or from Salesforce. You only need to create classes if you want to create a timetable before you are ready to load entries.
How do I set the Optimum Time etc?
Pick the relevant class and then find the Cross Country section. You can set the course distance and speed here, then click the Recalculate icon next to the Optimum Time field to ask the page to calculate it for you. Yes - you can edit it.
We have different Optimum Times on different days
You need to have a Class for each day. This will happen automatically for BE events. Otherwise, if you currently have a single class e.g. Novice, but find that Novice on Saturday has a different distance and Optimum to Novice on Sunday, then you need to create another Novice class and move the relevant Sections to this cloned class.
Teams
If you can't see the Teams card, go to Admin - Event and click the "This competition includes Teams" checkbox.
Can't change the Settings?
The settings are locked when one or more of the Sections belonging to the class have a status of Final. If you need to change the Class Settings after finalising your results, you need to reset the section status to Provisional and then make the change. Your change might alter your results.
